About Lock (Booking below)

I graduated from Alexandar School of Massage in Tacoma, WA, in 2019. Since then I’ve been practicing a style of bodywork which is inspired by myofascial release and structural integration. I love to do the kind of work in which my client and I can address the body in both its past and present, look at the bigger picture relationships in the body which create pain or dysfunction, and pursue a strategy which allows us to change those relationships. I primarily work on clients on a massage table, but am incorporating more floor-based elements (on a padded mat of course!). I was led to the bodywork path after years of injury and chronic pain, and it is a deep passion of mine to help people find their way through those experiences.

In addition to table- or floor-based bodywork, I also utilize techniques from Somatic Experiencing (SE), which I’ve been studying since 2019 (currently an Advanced year trainee, pursuing an SE Practitioner certificate). Somatic Experiencing is a body-based approach to helping the body process the imprints of past experiences, which we might sometimes refer to as trauma. “Doing SE” often looks like giving attention to the ways in which our feelings and body interact, and using the built-in capacities of the body to support adaptability, spontaneity, and resilience (in SE language we might call this “coherence” or “better regulation”). The ways in which SE fits into sessions could vary based on the needs of the client: using talk to explore feelings and sensations in the body, blending this kind of tracking in with bodywork, splitting a session between talk and table work, etc.

Apart from bodywork, I play a number of instruments, spend time with plants in the garden and the forest, and practice movement arts.
